After March being very warm and sunny last weekend, April is starting with a layer of snow on everything and more coming down. What better time than to do a bit of stitching and look at the nice, sunny colours of my Bee again? Here’s last time:

In progress-picture of a counted cross-stitch project, showing an area of honeycomb in oranges and yellows. On the top, a small five-petalled blue flower, on the bottom the head of a bee with a feeler and a front leg extending over the honeycomb.

The honeycomb is pretty much finished, and I made a start on the unstructured background in the upper right corner:

Image of a counted cross-stitch project in progress. At the bottom, the head and front leg of a bee is visible, followed by the upper outline of a wing going 45 degrees upward towards the right. Above that, there's background in the form of honeycomb cells in yellows and oranges. At the top, a little blue flower finishes the area. There's unworked background in the upper right.

Also, my nifty app is telling me that I’ve done pretty much exactly 25% of the whole project. Yay!

Here are the other members of the SAL who are posting today. Make sure to check out their work, it’s amazing: Avis, Claire, Gun, Christina, Kathy, Margaret, Heidi, Jackie, Sunny, Megan, Deborah, Sharon, Daisy, AJ, Cathie, Linda, Helen, Connie, Cindy and Mary Margaret.

  1. love all the different shades of yellow & orange ^^

  2. Looks an interesting design.

  3. No snow here, but it is colder than I would like. I like you progress on the honeycomb. I like seeing the pretty bright colors of this every 3 weeks.

  4. It seems we’ve also got a treacherous spring and also got snow as soon as we pulled out the garden furniture. You are making great progress on this, looking forward to seeing the next update!

  5. Lovely to see the bee appearing. We’ve also had lovely weather until the snow arrived last week. Hopefully it won’t last too long.

  6. Love the colours, so cheerful! We had about 2″ snow just as all the blossom came out!

  7. Those honey comb colors are so beautiful – no snow but it feels like its threatening something we certainly don’t want 🙂

  8. That honeycomb is sunshine itself!

  9. Last week all the windows where open and now its just so cold. You little honeycomb with all the bee-utiful bright colours certain looks more like sunshine.
