A small update for the bee today – as winter sport on TV starts up, I hope to give more time to this one again. Last time:

In progress-shot of a counted cross-stitch project with a yellow-orange-red background. On the left, some big pink and small blue flowers, on the upper right, a hexagon from a honeycomb.

I’ve started to work on the flower on the top right, and it’s slowly taking shape:

This one is still fun, although the 28-count fabric is very small indeed. I will stick to 25-count for future projects, it’s so much easier to handle in spite of the seemingly small difference in count.

Here are the other members of the SAL who are posting today. Make sure to check out their work, it’s amazing: Avis, Claire, Gun, Christina, Kathy, Margaret, Cindy, Heidi, Jackie, Sunny, Megan, Deborah, Sharon, Daisy, AJ, Cathie, Linda, Helen and Connie.

  1. A little progress is all it takes and during the winter we always seem to get more done. I am loving both your owl and your bee and enjoy watching them grow. xx

  2. 28 count is really fine, but at least you don’t have to worry about backstitch ^^

  3. Sport watching is always helpful for increasing crafting production. I look forward to seeing this piece really grow.

  4. It’s got some lovely colours but I agree it is nice to alternate with larger count. Suddenly it feels like stitching at lightning speed when you’ve just come from a 28count project !!

  5. Winter is great for hunkering down and stitching. Love the colours in this project!

  6. Beautiful progress. This is such a pretty piece. 28-count is a challenge – especially on a piece of this size.

  7. I know the feeling. Mine is also 28 count. It’s hard going but we’ll get there.

  8. Isn’t TV awesome for stitchy progress!

  9. It’s looking great!

  10. Oh, such small stitches!

  11. Love the colors in this project…tv, winter and cross stitch – the perfect combination!

  12. I always love the colors in this piece! I’m also much more productive in the winter… sitting in my warm living room stitching away!
