Excitement! More Black! Last time:

counted cross-stitch project in progress - black background on the left side of empty fabric showing the outline of the next coloured section.

In progress picture of a counted cross-stitch pattern, visible is the negative space in the black background on top of the second owl.

I’ll work my way around the right side of the owl before reintroducing some colour. I’ll probably continue the branches first, followed by the cluster of leaves which will fill the bump in the outline on the left. After that we’ll get a look at the colours of the new owl.

Here are the other members of the SAL who are posting today. Make sure to check out their work, it’s amazing:Β Avis, Claire, Gun, Christina, Kathy, Margaret, Cindy, Heidi, Jackie, Sunny, Megan, Deborah, Renee, Carmela, Sharon, Daisy, Anne, AJ, Cathie, Linda and Helen.

  1. sounds like a good idea to get the black stitches out of the way first ^^

  2. It may be boring, but at least when you are concentrating on the one color you can do a whole lot of stitching. I am looking forward to seeing the added color.

  3. That’s alot of progress! I don’t know the design but I’m guessing you’re outlining two hooties hugging or something ? πŸ˜€ Can’t wait to see more

  4. That’s a lot of black πŸ™‚ Your making great progress too!

  5. Ah yes, but we have to have some black to be rewarded with the lovely bright shades later πŸ™‚

  6. Your plan sounds great!

  7. It is always a bore when you are stuck on one colour but you will soon be on to other bits so good progress and less black for the future. xx

  8. Great progress!

  9. I agree, get the black out of the way and then the fun can begin!

  10. You are keeping us in suspense! πŸ˜‰

  11. I like working with one colour at a time. It’s so much faster and once the black is done, you get to do all the pretties πŸ™‚

  12. Wonderful progress, a lot of Stitching
