Looking at the bee again today! Here’s where we were six weeks ago:

In-progress shot of a counted cross-stitch project, featuring two big pink flowers on a orange and red background.

And this is today:

In progress picture of a colourful cross-stitch-project of a bee featuring the red-orange-yellow background on the opper left of the image.

This is the upper left corner of the pattern, and I’ll make my way to the right from there. You may notice that the numbers I drew in for counting out the pattern seem to be awfully close to the last stitches here – looks like a miscounted at the very start and the whole image is shifted 10 stitches left from where it was supposed to be. Luckily I left just enough space for this not to be a problem in the end. There’s one small dot that should be up in the corner that would touch the zero line that’s now partially covered by the numbers, and I’ve decided to leave that out in order to not make finishing more difficult at the end. I’m now at 13,53% done, onwards to 15!

Here are the other members of the SAL who are posting today. Make sure to check out their work, it’s amazing: Avis, Claire, Gun, Christina, Kathy, Margaret, Cindy, Heidi, Jackie, Sunny, Megan, Deborah, Renee, Carmela, Sharon, Daisy, Anne, AJ, Cathie, Linda and Helen.

  1. lovely & bright! hope the miscount doesn’t affect anywhere else in th design.

  2. Good steady progress. After doing that on a very large project once, I know how easy it is to miscount. I was lucky in having enough fabric and now always allow a little extra “safety barrier” to my fabric.

  3. I love the bright colors of this piece. I seem to be encountering a bunch of miscounting lately also.

  4. Those are such happy colours 🙂
I hope the miscount doesn’t affect anywhere else. It’s so easy to do.

  5. I absolutely love the colors in this piece. It is beautiful. Miscounting is always stressful and easy to do… Sounds like you found a great solution. I, too, hope it is the only area the miscount will affect for you.

  6. Sorry to hear you miscounted at the start. As long as it’s working out oK in the end that’s all that matters. Beautiful stitching!

  7. Great progress and great colors too. Grrrr on the miscount but sounds like you’ll be ok in the end and thats all that matters.

  8. It’s beautiful!

  9. Looking great!!

  10. Nice blocks of color you’ve added there! Glad you’re able to fudge the miscount! Keep on stitching 🙂

  11. I like your happy colors!

  12. Incredibly beautiful piece, love watching this bloom

  13. Your flowers have a watercolour effect to them, as the colours seem to spread into each other in the most delightful way.
