Another tiny bit of progress this time, but we’re starting to see colour!

Last time:

Now:

Progress shot of counted cross-stitch embroidery of a cute owl

The reds are on the beak and on the upper part of the wings, which is not a huge area, but there’s lots of different colours involved, so I might take a while on this.

I think progress will stay slow in general on this, since I do try to prioritize my own creative projects when I have the brainspace for them. This one is a good travel project, and in fact the progress was made when I was traveling for a few days at the beginning of October. But who knows when I’ll get to do that again, and at home I mostly have my own projects on the go.

Here are the other members of the SAL who are posting today. Make sure to check out their work, it’s amazing: Avis, Claire, Gun, Carole, Sue, Christina, Kathy, Margaret, Cindy, Heidi, Jackie, Sunny, Hayley, Megan, Deborah, Mary Margaret, Renee, Carmela, Sharon, Daisy, Anne, Connie, AJ, Jenny, Laura, Cathie, Linda and Helen.

  1. I can totally understand where you’re coming from as I have various other projects too. Mind you, I find cross stitch an easy way to switch brain off. What matters is this SAL gets you enough motivation to bring this piece forward, and if you don’t feel like it, you can always pick another one !

  2. looking very pretty with all that pink

  3. There’s no rush to finish. Slow progress is good.

  4. I like the splash of colour that’s appearing 🙂

  5. It is starting to come together now.

  6. Confetti stitching like that is oh so time consuming, but it looks wonderful when it is finished. Love your progress.

  7. It’s nice to have a project ticking along in the background while you concentrate on other things.

  8. Those reds are going to be gorgeous, this owl is one of my favorites each SAL, I love its expression!

  9. I love starting colors after I work a long stretch on a monochromatic part. Looking great!

  10. I love the colors in this piece. The owl is darling!

  11. I think that any progress is good progress and I can totally see where you have made some new stitches. This is such a cute project!

  12. It’s looking really good!

  13. Those owl eyes are the best! Take your time with this beauty. I’ve been trying to prioritize my projects too especially with some holiday stitching going on. Stay well

  14. Cute fellow. The red looks like he is blushing!

  15. Take your time, cross stitch must relax us and have fun! … And create beautiful things !!
    Hugs, Carmela

  16. Pretty pinks!

  17. The saying the little progress is better than none, is very true. If you keep it as one of those projects you can pick up and put down when you only have five minutes it will still grow, but I do understand how frustrating this can be.

  18. Hello – I love the colours on this owl. It is good to have a small project you can travel with. Relax and sew with joy.
