As I suspected, last week’s travel left me with quite a bit of stitching time, so I made good progress.

I went from here:

I got all the flower motifs done as well as most of the blue stitching. I’m currently in the middle of adding the golden trellis stitches. I like the effect, stitching with the metallic thread is a pain nevertheless, but I’ll persist. After that is finished, there’s another row of dark blue half-crossstitches to add, and some blue backstitching. I hope to be able to finish the embroidery part of this project for the next update, then it’s off to the finishing, which I suspect will be a major part of this project.

Here are the other members of the SAL who are posting today. Make sure to check out their work, it’s amazing: Avis, Claire, Gun, Carole, Wendy, Lucy, Jess, Sue, Kate.

If you would like to join in please contact Avis, who will give you full details.

  1. oh wow! you’ve come along in leaps and bounds

  2. I wish I could click on the images to enlarge them, I’d love to see more detail of those little flower panels. The metallic trellis may be a bore to stitch, but the effect is beautiful.

    • I didn’t insert a bigger version at the moment since the image isn’t that good at that detail level. I promise to try to get a good close-up for the next SAL update!

  3. That’s so pretty

  4. Wow, that *is* good progress! I wish you the best with the finishing/assembly process. That’s where I would get stalled.

  5. It’s beautiful! I’m really looking forward to the finishing stage. Please take a few photos so we can see how the magic happens 🙂

  6. Well done, that’s a lot of progress. I do admire you for persisting with the metallic threads!

  7. My goodness that is coming along fast and very pretty. I didn’t manage a stitch on my flower fairy this time so had to withdraw. Hope to be back at some point.

  8. You have really stitch a lot in these three weeks!! Looks great!

  9. Wow, you’ve made loads of progress. It’s looking beautiful too 🙂
