Thank you so much for the clear instructions on needle lace. I happened across a site that had mentioned it. I love doing all sorts of needlework and have become fasinated with laces of all types. Now excited to get started on my first needle lace project.

Thank you again,

Oh, it is just gorgeous!! Such a bright and vibrant creation, and so so beautifully made.
Little details I've noticed, which I really like...
I love that you ahve repeated things like the ric-rac braid in a couple of places - it adds continuity doesn't it? Makes it all "belong" together.
I love the texture with the beads.
I love that you have used some patterned fabric which breaks up the solids.
The feet turned out really well!
Lucky little girl on Christmas morning.

I love the shading effect of the colours on the leaves and fruit.

Those colours would be absolutely ideal for a Jacobean style piece, I can't wait to see what you come up with!

It really is a beautiful frame. I haven't done much embroidery in years but I'd be tempted to do more just to have an excuse to buy one of those.

I've also made some tatted jewellrey. There's a picture of it here: http://lizziebach.wordpress.com/2009/07/31/a-pair-of-earrings-to-match/ I think you are right that in order to bring these crafts forwards with us we need to come up with ways of making them contemporary. I love my jewellrey and think despite it being an old craft the necklace and earrings themselves look modern as they have been made in fashionable colors.

I was Googling "hexagon quilt pattern" images and came across this post.

Thanks for the link to Jon Ingram's site! It's very interesting and I love what you and he did with these tiles. There's a hexagon quilt in my future and You've given me more inspiration to do it!
